What is an Altered Book?

An altered book is just what it sounds like. It's a physical book, any book, that has been changed in some way.

In this book's case, the pages have been designed and manipulated with multicolored inks and pencils. Words have been selected and showcased, slightly obfuscated, or entirely obliterated, depending on the design or mood of the artist. Each page stands as its own piece, as poems bound together in a manuscript.

A project like this merges visual art and poetry into a form beyond what either might do independently.
