I've drawn from life and from imagination. I have used paint, coal, ink, canvas, clay, words, cameras, computers and a thousand other objects in order to create. Though I have studied art, photography, poetry and other things, when I work, I rely more on instinct than book learning or theory. 

I have always been an artist in one form or another, and I am always learning more about how to make beautiful things.

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Boston University and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing (Poetry) from George Mason University.

I currently live in Northern Virginia with my husband and infant son. My family is one of my greatest sources of inspiration. My husband and son, whether they like it or not, often make guest appearances in my work.
